Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thang...

These past two weeks have been INSANELY busy. Tara and Austin were married a week ago last Saturday and just three days prior to that, we spent the evening in the ER with Jenni. She had kidney stones that hit her rather hard and fast. She had never had them before and let me tell you, this was quite an experience. To say that she cannot tolerate pain very well would be a large understatement. All I can say is that I don't want to be anywhere near when she has a baby :) As she entered the ER I believe her words were "STICK ME AND GIVE ME DRUGS NOW!!!" She was a bit hysterical. She was sent home to wait out the "Passing of the Stone" (doesn't that sound like a good title for a movie?"). However, our visits to the emergency room continued. We ended up there a total of three times over a three day period. It was crazy. On the upside...she is rather entertaining when on her pain killers. Medication makes her rather loopy and she was saying some pretty funny stuff that I will have to pull out sometime if I ever need to blackmail her ;)

Many prayers were answered and on the day of the wedding Jenni was able to tolerate the pain. Granted, she was slightly medicated, but she was there. She finally passed her kidney stone on Monday morning and has been fine ever since. Hopefully she will not get a stone on the day of her wedding...that would be BAD. I have a feeling that her wedding may not be too far in the distant future...maybe Christmas??? That will have to be saved for another blog post...

Here Comes The Bride...

This past week Tara had her bridal pictures taken at Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake. I can't believe that in less than two weeks, she will be married. Where is my little girl that could not stand the thought of going to preschool and opted to just stay home with me? Time has certainly flown by. What a beautiful young woman she has become!

I Love This Message!!!

This is one of my favorite stories from President Hinckley. It would make a really good message for Family Home Evening with your family. I think that sometimes we forget that simple acts of kindness can have a powerful impact on people's lives. This is a good reminder of that.

Three Down...Two To Go

Last Friday Tara graduated from high school at the BYU Marriott Center. She actually had completed her required credits early and was not sure she wanted to walk with her class. Greg and I were pretty firm and told her that she really needed to do it or later in life she may regret it. After the day was all over, she even agreed that it was a good thing. Congratulations Tara!
